Our friend and amazing NYC yoga teacher, Alanna Kaivalya, is turning 30 on December 17th, and she has one wish. Alanna would love nothing more than to donate $3,000 to the ASPCA in honor of her 30th birthday – but she needs your help. Subscribe to her podcasts before December 17th, and 100% of your December payment will go towards this incredible cause. Check out the details from her website here:

It’s ridiculously easy. Cross my heart, there’s no tech savviness necessary. If you can work iTunes, you can download podcasts. Imagine doing an awesome asana class on your kitchen floor. Anything is possible.
Signing up for the podcast couldn’t be easier. Follow these 3 simple steps:
1. Go to: www.jivadiva.com/podcasts and click on any of the “Subscribe to Premium Content” buttons.
2. This will lead you to a page where you can set up your subscription with a PayPal account, credit card or check. Enter your information and you now have access to yoga in your living room.
3. Check your email associated with the last transaction. In your inbox will be a message with your username (email) and password so you can access the podcasts! Now, when you go back to the original page and click on the “Listen Now” links, you’ll actually be able to listen. You could also click “download” and store the file wherever you like on your computer.
Not kidding. That easy. Give it a try and see for yourself. You could be doing yoga on your lunch break today.
**$9.95/month for 2 new classes recorded live each month. That’s awesome. Know what’s better? 4 classes per month.
**Starting in January, I’ll start uploading a new class once a week, because we all know consistency is key. But! The price will also be increasing to $12.95/month in January. So, save yourself $3 (hey, that’s a latte) and subscribe now.

On December 17th, I will be celebrating my 30th birthday. Yes, the big 30. Turns out that I’ve now spent over 1/3 of my life as a yogi. But, I’ve spent all the years of my life as an animal lover. As a kid, I rode horses, then I went through an awkward (but adorable) reptile phase in college and I’ve always been a dog lover. Lately, my days are spent trying to figure out how to provide the best life possible for my pup, Roxy. Many of you have seen pictures of her on my Facebook page and some of you have even seen her in class or at teacher training. She’s a pretty stellar little pooch.
Maybe it’s the turn of the clock to a new decade for me and the planet. Maybe I’ve seen the Sarah McLachlan commercial one too many times, but I would love to exit this year having made a mark on the planet in a way that positively affects our animal friends.
So, here’s what I’ve decided. I’m going to launch the “Podcasts for Puppies” drive. If I receive 300 subscribers to my podcast by my 30th birthday – December 17th – then I’ll donate $3000 to the ASPCA.
You know, the guys who spay and neuter shelter animals for free and help to provide them good homes. The folks who advocate for animal welfare across the country and put lobbyists in action to change laws that make it easier for animals to live in harmony with the rest of us. They do good stuff. And, they need some money. And, I want to give it to them. Because every time I look into Roxy’s puppy dog eyes, I feel like I’m a better person. That’s about enough to make anyone go mush.
Help me reach my goal and ring in my 3rd decade on the planet with a bang. Sign up for the podcast and keep up your practice with rockin’ bhakti filled groovy vinyasa while knowing you’ve also contributed to a fantastic cause.
(That’s me & Roxy on our first day together. A match made in yoga heaven)
We have just over a month to hit 300 subscribers. Pay attention to my Facebook and Twitter feeds as new subscribers will get a “Huzzah!” on those pages, and we’ll keep an up to date count on how close we are to the goal. Roxy and I can’t do it without you!
