7:00 pm-9:30 pm iFly Yoga- Intro to Handstands
Adho Muka Vrksasana or Downward Facing Tree Pose is known by Mr. Iyengar as the most Harmonious of all yoga asanas. Handstand is literally the tree of life and prolonged vitality, suggested as therapy for so many health ailments including: poor circulation, mild depression, relieves stress, calms and quiets the brain, improves sense of balance, strengthens the core, shoulders, arms and back muscles. Find your strength, focus, purpose, confidence and community in your handstand…Oh, and it’s a boat load of fun!!!

This workshop will be a detailed introduction on how to safely and methodically approach the Handstand and core strength in your daily practice. No prior Handstand experience is necessary.

Uplift! Activate your core in every pose, to (hand)stand up with integrity and integration. We will examine all aspects of the core including the anatomical and energetic engagements of the abdominal wall, exterior obliques, intercostals, mid and thoracic spine, clavicular and scapular wingspan, and revolutionize your perspective on how they correspond to heart, bandha, chakra, and nadi.

Pressing arm balances from the floor requires strength, flexibility and patience. This workshop will examine the many techniques we can use to develop the skills needed to effortlessly lift OFF from the floor.
