Kalari Shakti – The Art of Flow with Shiva Rea
Saturday, October 13th | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm | Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance | $60
Experience a dynamic introduction to the ancient Indian martial art form kalaripayattu, or kalari, and its shared roots within yoga and Ayurveda. We’ll explore the fluid spiral strength of kalari, which includes Shiva’s integration with Prana Flow vinyasa forms for embodying the instinctual shakti of yoga.
Kalari Vinyasa is a preparation for Kalari through prana flow™ vinyasa forms developed by Shiva and approved by Gurukaal Sathya Narayan. The purpose is to prepare the inner and outer body to receive the practice of kalarippayatu and awaken a more instinctual, energetic relationship to the flow of shakti within yoga.. This special workshop will take place at the Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance, 55 Bethune St. NYC. $60
