About the Studio
At YogaWorks, they believe Yoga is for everyone. It is their mission to honor and embrace each student’s search for personal growth, wellbeing, and fulfillment by offering the highest quality yoga programs to people of all ages and from all walks of life.
They do this with love, compassion, a sense of humor, and with respect for what each individual can accomplish through Yoga and throughout their lives.
YogaWorks has 24 locations in California and NY and run approximately 100 teacher trainings around the globe per year.
Although YogWorks embraces a diverse array of yoga styles, one consistent theme threads through every class they offer – an excellence in teaching that has made them the gold standard of yoga schools. All of their teachers have minimum 500 hours of YogaAlliance certification, and many of their senior teachers have been doing their thing for 20 years or more.
The signature YogaWorks style classes balance precise instruction, alignment with breath, fluid movement and emphasize thoughtful sequencing. Classes are carefully themed to deepen the students’ experience of yoga and modifications are used to individualize the practice for each practitioner.
They take particular pride in their specialty programs for beginning yoga students, children, athletes, seniors, and people in need of rehabilitation, all of which feature the trademark YogaWorks approach: safe, compassionate and skillful teaching.
Teacher Training Programs – 200/500 Registered Yoga Alliance Trainings
YogaWorks offers many 200-hr teacher training formats from 4 week intensives to 8 month extended weekend formats. They also offer 500-hr teacher trainings that extend over the course of 6 months. Their trainings are held in our core markets of LA, SF and NY as well as in partner studios around the world.
The 200-Hr teacher training is for students who want to deepen their practice and for aspiring teachers. It teaches you how to teach the yoga postures (asana) using the YogaWorks methodology.
It provides a basic framework and understanding of the theories and practice of yoga (asana, functional anatomy, the physiology of inversions, breathing and the nervous system), yoga philosophy (rooted in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali), subtle body (the fundamentals of Pranayama, meditation, Ayurveda and the Chakra System) and the art of teaching.
As a graduate you can register with the Yoga Alliance as a 200-Hr Registered Yoga Teacher (200-RYT) and begin on your teaching path.
The 500-Hr training is like graduate school for yogis with a great internship!
This program is for 200-hour graduates that want to learn more, refine their skills (building upon their skills from the first program) and work as an apprentice with a master teacher. Through a combination of a six-month apprenticeship with a mentor teacher, a six month weekend workshop series & practice teaching series, trainees will refine their teaching skills, identify areas of expertise, and set the foundation for fully incorporating yoga into their life path. Trainees will work on practice teaching in the classroom and build upon what they learned in their initial training, solidifying and integrating the information.
Upon completion you can register with the Yoga Alliance as a 500-Hr Registered Yoga Teacher (500-RYT).
