About the Teacher

Brock Cahill and Krista Cahill, aka the Gravity Cowboys are, in two words, f’n awesome. These two Los Angeles based Yoga teachers can do things with their bodies that most people can only dream of – that is, until they teach you how. Practicing with them is delightful, they compliment each other beautifully and work so well together you forget that there are two teachers instead of one. Brock and Krista offer their students some of the most challenging postures and transitions in an atmosphere that is supportive, fun, and inspiring.

About Brock…

Brock was wearing a pair cowboy boots and a bit of a hangover when he accidentally stumbled across the path of yoga. He was out there fumbling around in the dark, trying to find himself, when the light of yoga clicked on and pointed him in the right direction. Through the physical nature of the practice, and his intense dedication to it, Brock has been able to enliven the body and clarify the mind, preparing him for a momentous trek on the winding road leading to the self and the soul. it is a road he loves to share… wanna go for a walk?

…or how ’bout we fly instead?

Brock has spent the majority of his life as a professional musician. he began studying the violin at a very early age. His earliest years were steeped in technique and ear development. several years later, when brock was about 10, he told his mother that playing the violin wasn’t “cool” anymore. She told him that as long as he continued to play the violin, he could play anything else he wanted. (awesome!) his father told him to learn the rules, so he could learn how to break them properly. Of course, first thing he did was ask for an electric guitar and some led zeppelin records. he hasn’t stopped rockin’ ever since. He did, however, continue to practice his violin, and after years and decades of playing in symphony orchestras, he cherishes it as the greatest gift that his mother ever could have given him.

About Krista…

Krista fell in love with the practice of yoga in 1999 when she took her first Ashtanga class with Tim Miller. Since that day she has devoted her time and energy into exploring the numerous dimensions, both as a teacher and student. “I look forward each day to the possibility that my practice both on and off the mat can promote a greater awareness in our immediate need for global peace and unification. ALL is ONE.”

Krista teaches retreats around the world and regular classes at Yogis Anonymous in Santa Monica, CA. She teaches a vigorous Vinyasa flow class filled with challenging armbalances and inversions; she believes that our obstacles are our greatest blessings. Krista and her husband Brock live their yoga together in Venice Beach, CA.

Their Yoga

(bala)nce Yoga is Brock and Krista’s blend of  inversional vinyasa flow. Bala – in Sanskrit means strength. Therefore, in this practice, we use our strength to create balance. What a wonderful way to use your power – to cultivate harmoney, clarity, grace, and peace.  In this style of practice, you can expect to spend a good deal of your time upside down, or in an arm balance challenging your roots to find your wings.
