Into the Stars - Your Weekly Horoscope (September 14-20, 2015)

This week (and next) we are inside of an Eclipse Portal: the numinous and charged time between two eclipses, a gateway into transformation.

On Sunday, we had a partial solar eclipse in Virgo and on the 27th we’ll have a total lunar eclipse in Aries. Eclipses are changemakers, bringing disruption of some kind; they shake things up, pull things apart, magnetize, amplify, and can create profound changes in life. It can often take up to six months to a year for the realization of what was shifted to become clear.

It is important during this time to be mindful of inner dialog. Let go of negative self-talk, excessive worry, or focusing on what you don’t have. Make sure you give that stuff a rest. Instead, feel as though the universe is listening intently to your words and your thoughts and focus on what you know needs to be released and what you’d like to invoke into being for yourself. Your thoughts are spells that conjure your reality, and during eclipse windows I have for many, many years encouraged a “no whining zone” for my clients and students. Fortify your self-esteem, clarify your intentions, and prepare for an activation in some area of life.

On Thursday, the planet of the mind, Mercury, turns retrograde in Libra. When a planet is in retrograde it seems to be moving backward in the sky; the energy of the planet manifests differently during this time. This trickster communication planet is retrograde usually three times a year for about three weeks and signifies a time to be more introspective, a time to slow down in general, and a time to review, renew, reassess and realign as necessary. Communication and cognition can get a little fuzzy or challenging and misunderstandings can crop up easily. Try to slow down and be discerning before making a move, a decision, or expressing yourself verbally or in writing.

This will be an interesting two year cycle beginning for you, Leo. Leo is the natural ruler of the fifth house. And with the Taskmaster planet settling in there you may find it more challenging to be as wildly creative as you usually are and in areas of sex and romance you may feel like your penchant for flings and casual relationships will be quelled in favor of self-reflection and self-discovery. I know, that doesn’t sound fun to you. But it’ll work in your favor in the long run.

Mercury, planet of the mind, turns retrograde (backward) on the same day in your house of communication; expect some slowing down in self-expression and communicating, some misunderstandings, and a bit of mental confusion during this time. Just turn inward and reflect, and don’t take any miscommunications personally.

On Thursday both Mercury (planet of communication) and Saturn (planet of restriction) shift. Mercury turns retrograde (backward) in Libra, bringing a few weeks of misunderstandings and confusion to your house of money and possessions. Mercury is your ruling planet. It’s likely that you’ll have some sticky situations arise in financial matters, some miscommunications or some business deals/partners from your past return. Keep an eye on your sense of self-worth throughout the next few weeks too.

Saturn leaves Scorpio for Sagittarius also on Thursday. This affects your house of home and domestic matters; this is the area of foundations and also what you keep protected. Also on Thursday the disciplinarian of the zodiac, Saturn, enters Sagittarius, your house of communication and ideas. For the next couple of years you’ll have some work to engage with regarding self-expression and relationships with siblings and extended family.

This past weekend’s new moon and eclipse ignited your house of sorrows, endings and compassion. Eclipses often bring abrupt changes and dissolve things, as well as amplifying your thoughts and energy. Whatever was activated may take up to six months or a year to come into clarity fully.

Your financial situation is bound to change now, including your income, possessions, and prospects. And your self-worth should get a boost!

On Thursday, Mercury turns retrograde (backward) in Libra, your house of endings and healing. Mercury is the planet that rules communication and thinking, and when a planet is retrograde that planet’s qualities become more internalized. For this Mercury retrograde cycle it is possible to have people from your past return in order to get closure. Your thoughts may be stuck on past situations or lost loves but don’t stay there; let a healing occur. This house governs sorrows and secrets too, so trust your instincts more that what people say during this time.

The recent solar eclipse highlighted the part of your chart that deals with technology and friendships. Look for some changes to arise in these areas over the next couple of weeks. Saturn, known as the disciplinarian and taskmaster, will enter Sagittarius and provide the opportunity for hard work, creating strong boundaries, and getting serious about yourself and your life. Words like personal responsibility, maturity and restriction don’t bring a smile to your face initially I know, but this is necessary work to lay a strong foundation for what you’ll want to create in life.

On the same day the planet of the mind shifts gears and turns retrograde in Libra, your house of hopes, alliances and technology. Watch out for miscommunications with colleagues, friends and family. Make sure to allow for extra time when traveling and use this slower paced time to research and review before making any moves forward.

Over the weekend we had a new moon and eclipse which brings attention to your house of career and success. Your ruling planet Jupiter is also in this house now, so you should expect some good fortune and boons to start unfolding in this part of your life.

*Your (flower essence) recommendation: Star Tulip (FES), for sensitivity, inner listening and attunement and your (gemstone) recommendation: tourmaline, for protection and to reduce stress.

Capricorn & Capricorn Rising: Your ruling planet Saturn will leave Scorpio behind finally and head into Sagittarius which is the place in your chart that deals with sorrows, karma, compassion and closure. For the next two years you’ll have the opportunity to do hard work and have some healing; this configuration will assist you in seeing where some relationships have devolved into co-dependency, where to fortify your boundaries, where maturity and discernment are needed, as well as exploring hidden agendas (yours as well as other people’s). This is also the house of healing and rest, and you may get to practice the art of saying no (respectful boundaries) in order to take care of yourself.

On the same day of Saturn’s shift, Thursday, Mercury will turn retrograde (backward). Mercury represents the mind and all cognition. When a planet is retrograde, its essential energies are turned inward and its expression changes. Mercury retrograde in Libra is in your house of success and career. You can plan on some challenges in this area; ensure that you double check where all your texts and emails are going before sending, reread all documents, back up all of your technology in preparation.

The solar eclipse and new moon over the past weekend will bring your attention to travel or education plans in the coming months. Themes like truth, freedom, discover, and adventure will be activated.

*Your (flower essence) recommendation: Star Tulip (FES), for sensitivity, inner listening and attunement and your (gemstone) recommendation: tourmaline, for protection and to reduce stress.

Aquarius & Aquarius Rising: Over the weekend we entered an eclipse portal with a new moon and solar eclipse in Virgo, stirring up changes in your mystical house of intimacy, intensity and mergers. Eclipses are activators and powerful catalysts for change. It often takes up to six months and sometimes a year for it to become clear exactly the depth of transformation that was initiated. Jupiter, the planet that brings expansion and good luck, also recently moved into this area of your chart. You can expect some amplification and big shifts around themes of spiritual transformation, sex, birth-death-rebirth, mergers, wealth, and resources. Abundance can begin to unfold and your psychic powers are charged up. It is also possible that you’ll encounter an important soul connection with someone during this time, Aquarius.

On Thursday Mercury turns retrograde (backward) in Libra, your house of travel and freedom. Mercury is the planet of the mind, memory, and cognition. For the next few weeks you may find yourself confused about where you should be, what you need to feel free, or you could just feel restricted either physically or mentally. Be mindful of the increased opportunity to be misunderstood during this time and know that people may interpret your directness and logical manner as harsh; don’t take anything personally.

Saturn also shifts gears on Thursday, entering Sagittarius and your house of friends and alliances. Your vision and your tribe will evolve into a new iteration.

*Your (flower essence) recommendation: Star Tulip (FES), for sensitivity, inner listening and attunement and your (gemstone) recommendation: tourmaline, for protection and to reduce stress.

Pisces & Pisces Rising: The recent new moon and solar eclipse in Virgo illuminated your seventh house of marriage and partnership. Eclipses are potent events, magnetizing and magnifying energies. It can often take six months or even a year to understand exactly the magnitude of what an eclipse brings. It is possible that you will meet someone during this eclipse portal (between now and the full moon eclipse in two weeks) or deepen an existing relationship.

On Thursday the planet of the mind, Mercury, turns retrograde (backward) for three weeks. This affects your house of intimacy, privacy, and shared wealth. When Mercury is retrograde (usually three times a year) there are often mishaps with technology, miscommunications and misunderstandings. You could have some challenging conversations or arguments with someone close to you. And considering where this retrograde cycle lands for you, it’s possible that you could have some issues with shared resources or wealth. Keep an eye out for anything strange in your finances.

Thursday also ushers in a shift with Saturn, the planet of discipline. Saturn enters Sagittarius, your house of success and career, insisting on hard work in order to reach your goals. This house also connects to men/fathers so there could be some processing or work to do with a relationship to a particular man in your life.

*Your (flower essence) recommendation: Star Tulip (FES), for sensitivity, inner listening and attunement and your (gemstone) recommendation: tourmaline, for protection and to reduce stress.
