Hi yogis! I started practicing yoga in 2008 (at which stage I couldn't even touch my toes!) and immediately noticed its ability to heal, strengthen and develop my mind, body and soul. My initial practice was informal and a little irregular as I was 'finding my feet’ and trying to understand how my body was responding to these new positions. I also noticed the profound link between the challenges I faced on my yoga mat and those beyond - the importance of breath, the sense of achievement of building on one’s own abilities, the interplay between control and release, and ability to laugh and relax.
I continue to enjoy observing the relationships between my yoga practice, teaching, and work in higher education. I have a huge amount of gratitude for the benefits yoga has had on my holistic health and happiness and aspire to share that with all I encounter.
