Friday, July 20th

Spend your Friday evening with Dhyana and John Vitarelli for a ‘Juicy Vinyasa’ – Yoga & Juicing Experiment at Dhyana Yoga!

One of the great benefits of practicing Yoga is that you get really in tune with your body, and how it is processing the things you put into it! Whether it’s the shows you watch on TV, the thoughts that run through your head, the people you hang out with, or the foods you eat, you begin to experience how those everything effects you when you are going through your flows on the mat. Over time, we begin to make only the choices that make us feel light, healthy, happy, and strong, and we see our lives transforming for the better in and out of class. In this special event, John and Dhyana will share some of their favorite “elixirs” with you! We’ll start by drinking a juice recipe to energize your practice, take a rejuvenating shot in the middle of class to keep the energy up, and close with a calming, cooling juice filled with nourishment. All refreshments will be just juicey, no powders or additives! Please come prepared for a vigorous Vinyasa flow, and consider bringing a mug of your own. We also invite participants to bring their own “recipes” for refreshments to share with the group.

Saturday, July 21st

Join Ari Halbert at Katonah Yoga in NYC for an Arm Balances & Inversions workshop!

There are two main prerequisites for finding easeful, sustainable arm balances: strength and technique. This workshop will address both. Contrary to popular belief, the technique involved in finding lightness on your hands is not about learning how to “defy gravity,” but rather how to work in harmony with it. By understanding where to place your center of gravity relative to the rest of our body, you will gain the desired affect of lightness and perceived “levitation.” You will be taught a specific, concentrated set of exercises that will build up both the strength and coordination necessary to find a graceful lift off in your arm balances.
