YOGANONYMIX: Rachel Platten's Fave Yoga Tunes

Rachel Platten is a singer and songwriter whose first major label album, Wildfire, hit number five in the U.S. and garnered her two top-ten singles, "Fight Song" and "Stand By You."

She's also a yogini and a fan of YOGANONYMOUS. We asked Rachel to put together a playlist featuring some of her favorite songs for a yoga class. We recommend you channel your inner pop star and bring some spunk to the mat with this playlist. And don't miss Rachel's album or her newest videos, YouTube links below the playlist.

"Orange Sky" by Alexi Murdoch

Not only does this song include a beautiful, calming melody, it includes very descriptive and meaningful lyrics. The importance of love is key, love is the home of the heart.

"Sunrise" by Norah Jones

This song is beautiful romantic, peaceful and perfect for an early morning yoga flow.

"Come On Get Higher" by Matt Nathanson

Matt is a dear friend of mind and this is one of my favorite tunes of his. This is a great song on so many levels. Musically and lyrically it's beautiful and sensual.

One of my favorites for an athletic yoga cool down.

"I Will Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab for Cutie

Not only is this song one of my favorites for yoga it is one of my all time favorite songs of all time. It is about a deep relationship between the artist and his lover, that he will always be there for his lover through all uncertainty.

"Sweet Disposition" by The Temper Trap

One of my goals during yoga is to focus my practice on the simplicity of life and escape the everyday craziness we encounter. Not only do I love the production on this song, I also love the lyrics and the focus of simplicity throughout the song.  The lyrics capture the innocence of youth, life's charming moments, the beauty in simplicity.
