Hope you had a relaxed and joyful Thanksgiving. The weeks following Thanksgiving can be stress-filled and hectic as we prepare for winter. With all of the celebrations, it can be easy to forget to check in with ourselves and turn inward. Below are some workshops that are geared toward helping you to slow down and stay centered, and to foster self-care.

Friday, December 2
Lindsay Lusignea will lead a workshop called “Slow Your Flow: The Art of Yoga as Self-Care” at Shakti Yoga this Friday evening. In this therapeutic workshop, Lindsey will guide you through a relaxing and refreshing practice that will help you to slow down, reflect, and breathe.

The class will begin with meditation and move into a slow restorative and healing practice to target the connective tissues and the joints to liberate the body’s chronic holding patterns and pain.

Friday, December 2
Join Jonathan Pofsky, MFT, for Spirit Speaks: The Transformation of Yoga this Friday evening. This event will fuse a mindful yoga class with a poetry reading. 

Jonathan is a licensed psychotherapist, bodyworker and yoga teacher, and is the author of “Breathe: Poetry for the Heart and Mind.” He will read his spiritually oriented poetry on the transformative power of yoga and meditation and will include mindful movement, restorative yoga, and meditation with group discussion and tea to follow.

Seattle Yoga News is hosting its third annual holiday party this Saturday, December 3. The event will take place at Om Culture and will feature live performances, prizes, music, and other surprises. 

Celebrate with your local yoga community! The winners of the 2016 Seattle Yoga Awards will also be announced including yoga teacher, yoga studio, and yoga organization of the year.
